When the word "costume" comes up, different people think of different things. For some people, costumes are something worn on a stage. Often something from a Shakespearian play comes to mind. For others, Halloween is the first thing they think of. No matter who you are talking to, there is always something that comes to their mind when costumes are brought up.

For many people Halloween is the only time of year when they don a costume. Because of this, a lot of thought and consideration is put into the process. Companies strive to come out with a huge variety of costumes so that people can have their pick of thousands of options. Outfits are made for men, women, children, infants, pets, and even stuffed animals.

You can even get matching costumes if you want. These are commonly available for couples, twins, pets and their owners, and parents and their kids. Superhero and sidekick sets are common, as are sets such as Raggedy Anne and Andy for couples or twins. This can put a touching and unique spin on your Halloween.

If you are looking for the type of costume that is available year round, you are most likely looking for something a little different.

Some adults dress up in the privacy of their homes as something sexy for their spouse. This trend has exploded as more people understand how important spending time playing is. Costumes like this can be found in many adult stores and sometimes in costume shops year round.

You can also find many things such as fair costumes any time you need them. This may take a more specialized store, particularly depending on how detailed you want the costume to be. But you can find costumes that correlate with many different time periods and events.
